What We Fancy

Part of what makes vintage Omega so great is the number of different variations they created in the 1950s to really figure out their identity. What I mean by that is by the time they reached their golden years of the 1960s when they had their distinguished lineup of models there were the 1950s when they experimented. This leaves us with beautiful watches like this reference 2791-1 from 1957. I cannot explain enough how cool this dial is in person, the way the dial aged to a two-tone and the patina’d applied Arabic numerals is just stunning in different lighting. With a long lugged case at 36mm wide, this watch wears very comfortable for the modern wrist. A true standout in a decade that’s hard to do so.
