What We Fancy
As you can see, the dial of the Chronomat is very busy. But it tells a lot about this moels brilliant history. The integrated sliding rule you see here was patented (no. 217012), as seen on the dial in 1942. This innovation not only performs as a tachometer and pulsometer but also allows the wearer to compute operations such as division and multiplication. The Chronomat can be considered the smartwatch of its time. The model also is the predecessor to the more well-known Navitimer, a model that would take the brand to the next level in the decades to follow. This particular example is in stunning all original condition and features a more rare and desirable black dial.
