What We Fancy

A classically designed chronograph from the mid-twentieth century from one of the industry’s best. Yes, GP manufactured some of the best chronographs of this era and shared a lot of design elements with Universal Geneve and even UG movements. Which of course are of tremendous quality.

Case: 32mm (excluding crown), 11.2mm thick, all stainless steel, snap-on case back, domed acrylic crystal, original unsigned crown, original square pushers

Movement: UG caliber 281, manual winding, recently serviced

Bracelet/ Strap: Navy double stitch, 17mm lug width

Features: Roman numeral hour indices, blued steel handset, 45-minute counting chronograph, column wheel movement, snap-on case back, circa the 1940s

Box & Papers: No

Condition: In overall great original condition. The dial has some warm patina that is noticeable in the photos. The left subsidiary dial has some darker aging. The steel case is unpolished and is still sharp with original brush finishing. Only some small superficial scratches can be seen. The movement has been recently serviced and keeps accurate time while the chronograph works as it should.
