Safe to put the transitional Submariner reference 16800 in the “Neo-Vintage” category. It has all the charm of a vintage Sub with some modern traits like white gold hour marker surrounds, sapphire crystal, and the quickest date. These were made with matte dials from 1979 to the mid-1980s and changed every so slightly during that time. This example with the white gold surrounds is the grandfather of the modern Submariner today. They all have white gold surrounding the hour markers, and this is the reference where it all started. This example dates to 1984 and is accompanied by its original inner/ outer box and hang tag.

Condition: In overall very good all original condition. The dial is good overall. The case is very good with some very minor scratches and no major dents . There are signs of light polishing in the distant past. The movement has been recently serviced and keeps excellent time when tested. The bracelet is very good with minimal stretch and can be worn daily.
