Patek Phillipe ref. 3579
Patek Phillipe ref. 3579
What We Fancy
Produced for a short five-year period from 1969 to 1974, the reference 3579 embodies the departure from the traditional design that the 50s & 60s saw with its cushion shape case, which integrated a brushed top portion with polished lugs. A few cool facts about the 3579 are that it is rumored to have been produced exclusively for the Japanese market with as little as 200 pieces made, this is not confirmed but one can imagine this is somewhat accurate. Also, this is also the only Patek that was only offered in stainless steel, a metal that was not often used by the company who generally used gold & platinum. This is a truly unique watch that brings a level of innovation & creativeness to a legendary brand looking to reinvent its identity.
