What We Fancy
Aquastar was created with a very clear focus in mind, to manufacture purpose-built tool watches for the water. Aquastar was founded in 1962 as a subsidiary of the well-established Swiss brand JeanRichard SA. The 1960s saw a boom in water sports so it was only natural that watch brands rode the wave in supplying tool watches where in need. Water sports and exploration were so popular during this time even Jacques Cousteau became involved with the Aquastar when he tested and proudly wore Aquastar divers. The Aquatsar 63 you see here is from the late 1960s and was one of the best divers you could find with a 200-meter depth rating and priced lower than competitors with similar capabilities.
