Diving into vintage Submariners is a deep and treacherous activity. There are so many models with the slightest of differences. This transitional Submariner Date reference 16800 dates to 1982 and is fitted with its original matte dial with a deep patina on the hour plots that match the hands well. It is rare to find these dials in this condition and many were replaced at service with glossy dials during their lifetime.

Bracelet/ Strap: Original signed Rolex steel Oyster ref. 93150 w/ 593 end links (will fit up to a 7 1/2” wrist w/ the option to remove links for a smaller fit), 20mm lug width

Condition: In overall excellent original condition. The dial is fantastic with no defects or blemishes. The tritium lume has aged to a beautiful creamy yellow and the lume pip is still intact. The bezel is great and rotates well with resistance in both directions, with minimal scratches. The case is great with no major scratches and some superficial scratches throughout. It remains sharp with original beveled lugs so a polishing is unlikely. The bracelet is tight with minimal stretch and can be worn daily comfortably. The movement has been recently serviced and keeps excellent time when tested on the machine.
